extra extra

just a quick update. i've put up a guestbook in here already and i'm really proud of it hehe (fine, i'm shallow. so what? ;p). thanks tons to alxnet for my guestbook. they have really cool stuff there :) so... what're you guys waiting for? pirma na! hehe just kidding :) it'll be appreciated though if you do.

by the way, when i watched 'the last samurai' last saturday, they showed the film trailer for Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban. looks great! i can't hardly wait :) if i remember correctly, it'll come out on May pa. hmmm, come to think of it, i want to watch a movie! hehe. i wanna see kill bill, mona lisa smile and stuck on you ;) after my hellweek (it's actually been two weeks already), i'll make it a point to catxh up on my social life. lol.

bird flu?

Hearing: You First Believed ~ Hoku

lately, there have been news of chickens being contaminated with the so-called bird flu, and though this is happening in other countries (such as japan), the Philippines is still not spared from it since (being the spendthrifts that we are) we may be lured to buying these 'imported' chickens at the guise of a cheaper price when in reality, they're chepaer 'coz they're contaminated with the bird flu. 'twas reported that 9 container vans of these contaminated chickens were distributed to different wet markets here... hmmm.

so when shine texted me about it yesterday, i threw a little panic attack since i've been having chicken fingers from our school since monday last week 'till last saturday... and i got a fever last sunday! i still have it now and i feel muy muy muy terible :( i cut my history 165 class today (despite it being my favorite class ever.. seriously ;p) 'coz i couldn't even walk straight with my wobbly knees and my eyes were too watery for me to see clearly. every bone and muscle in my body were aching and my sinuses were clogged up like you wouldn't believe. i even got dry cough to go with it. dang. were it not for a socio-anthro long exam i had today, i would've skipped school altogether.

could it be that i've got the bird flu? *rarr*

domo arigato hai! (whatever this means :p)

that's katsumoto (ken watanabe) with his hand raised and nathan algren (tom cruise) at the lead left (c'mon, you can't miss tom cruise ;p)

i catched "the last samurai" last night with bea, her cousin anton and his girlfriend, gabbie in powerplant. when i got to powerplant, bea, anton and gabbie were half-through with their dinner which was a-ok with me, since i was an eternal latecomer and i had already grabbed a bite before i went there. bea texted me about half an hour before i got there that they had already gotten me a ticket to "the last samurai". i was a bit hesitant at first to watch it since i've seen portions of it from a pirated VCD (which isn't as fuzzy and blurry as some of you might think ;p but the original is still the best. support origs! hehe) and though i liked it and even felt a bit weepy towards the end, it wasn't a film i wanted to see again. but since the ticket was already bought, i went ahead and watched it (i got there about 8.30 and the movie was at 10.20... we waited for 2 hours harhar). it took all of me to stop myself from politely backing out from the movie but still vouching for the ticket just so i could grab a cup of coffee and study (yeah yeah, i'm weird, i know :D), but since that would be rude (and i'm a very nice little girl hehe), i didn't do that.

expecting the movie to be boring (as what my initial impression of it was), i was SO wrong. it was SUPERB. truly a quality and definitely worth watching. when anton told me before we went in that "Samurai" already outgrossed "LOTR3" in the States, i smiled to give him the impression that i somehow believed him but vehemently disagreed to myself (being an LOTR fanatic). i scoffed at the idea of a japanese-epic-slash-american-samurai-wannabe movie toppling the superb and marvelous (bias seeping through hehe) LOTR 3. but i ate my words soon after. i loved the movie! everything about it was great and done masterfully. katsumoto (ken watanabe) was my favorite... shall we say, samurai. his presence was so powerful and impressive, he could have outshone the lead character of nathan algren (tom cruise). bee-yoo-ti-ful.

and so shine was right... one had to see the movie first before critiquing the casting of tom cruise as a samurai. the story behind it is worth finding out the reason for which cruise (very american, to say the least) was cast as a samurai. and, thank gosh, there weren't any untasteful and tacky love scenes stuck anywhere within the film. for once :) oh and by the way, my good friend sprz has put up a new blog herself. check her site out. thanks for the help! :)

before i forget, do any of you know how i could make the font for the tagboard smaller? the font for the posts are fine already but i really want to make the font for the Name and Url and Message dialog boxes smaller... they're humungous. and irritating. :(

last but not the least (or maybe a bit), know david's tea house in virramall. greenhills? terrible service. passable food but terrible service. clean, attractive and bright place but terrrrrrible service. no sense of customer courtesy at all. i'll explain (,defend and justify) myself next time around. for now, gotta study for an S&A long exam. ciao.

eureka

haha i've finally gotten rid of the hanging date in this site! it was so irritating, with it (it being the date of the topmost entry in the page) hanging right above the "my imagination" titlebar image hehe. i just had to get rid of it... hence, all of the techie powers-that-be polled all their might and strength to somehow lead me to the answer to my problem. mind you, those powers must be dead tired (or even considering retirement just to steer clear of people like me), having successfully aided me, the techno-idiot-slash-htm guru-wannabe. *bow* so all that's left is to finally set the time straight. argh. if only i knew what timezone to choose from the choices in the 'settings' (yes i know, i'm an ignoramus) just so the correct philippine time would appear automatically whenever i try to publish a post. if any of you know, help me out? :D

EDIT: hold the presses! i've finally gotten off my stupidity chair and found the right (philippine) timezone, so no need for me to fret anymore and for you to start shouting expletives at me ranging from 'idiot!' to 'moron!', among others ;) lol.

unlearned

hmmm. i'm quite new at this blogger thingy so i'm not sure if it really takes a REALLY long time for a post to appear on your site itself. i made a post last night and 'till now it hasn't appeared. or is it just my browser that's wrong here? in case any of you can see it (you can't miss it.. it's the one aragorn's image in it ;p), do tell me so i'll know that it's just my PC's that's zonked out. or if blogger's really that way and you know it, tell me as well, so i'll know it too (eheh). so i'm trying to make this new post and see if it'll appear, together with the prior one. owell. learning the ropes, i guess :)

EDIT: i finally figured it out. i can't change the set time of my post into that of our timezone. i'll have to follow what's stated in here already or else i'll have to wait for it to hit that time i put in before it'll come out. hmm. i'll fix it next time. honestly, i don't know what timezone we're in... does anyone know? :D

dry run

Hearing: Yeah ~ Usher feat. Lil John & Let's Get Retarded ~ Black Eyed Peas

erm... i'm just testing whether the image sourcing works :) at the same time, sharing a little something for all those aragorn ehem, admirers (like me ;p).

*SIGH*

and oh yeah, my blogspot's finally in full swing ;) let the operations begin, baby! eherm.

yay-ness

i've got a new weblog! it may not be the most visually competent of all, but i put it together, so i still love it. haha. i've been on my upsaid account for the longest time and i know that i'll miss it, but i'd have to eventually (though gradually) let that one go and stick to this one. th ereason i transferred here is that i felt like it was time for me to try having an actual layout aside from those ready-made (and somehow, pretty plain and blah) templates. don't get me wrong, i loved my upsaid template and i've actually put in a lot of work there to make it more lively, but i did feel the need to have a VISUAL lay out (you know, with images and all).

i'm not that html savvy yet to try and produce my OWN layout so instead, i took after my friend, andrea's advice and had one of the really pretty layouts from blogfrocks (very user-friendly, especially to techie-dunces like me :D) and here it is. it's called "imagination" and it appealed to me the most among all the endlessy pretty choices there were. i'll have to touch it up in time and somehow find a way to lower the text area of the blog so that the first entry won't be overlapping with the heading image (did you notice it? irritating :*). so thanks, andrea, for jumpstarting my new blog! i've been meaning to put up a new one (as evidenced by my previous entries which came from as far as a year back or so), and now i have. we'll all be watching out for YOUR own new blog *wink*.

i'd love to tinker away here and make this into the best it can be but it's currently my "hell-week" and i actually have no idea what the heck i'm trying to accomplish coming up with a blogsite when there are about 4 long exams, 2 group reports, and 2 papers lined up for me in the next few days. sigh. oh well, that's life. i don't have a message board just yet or a comments page or a guestbook at that but i'll that up in time :) so see you again (in case you wandered in here by sheer foolishness or something hehe). well.. off i go.
